Looking back this coming Sunday to an interview we did with Carmelo Domenic Licciardello better known by the single name “Carman”. He was a great Christian music singer, songwriter, television host and evangelist. He won multiple Dove Awards, nominated for four Grammys, sold over 10 million records and was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2018.

Paul Heil was the very best of Southern Gospel broadcasting. When I first started my program, he was the one I looked up to for the standard. I never reached his level other than the quality of music I played. Paul was a genius at editing! He heard places in songs where he could remove a verse or chorus to cut a minute here, a minute there to make his program time out correctly. Later years, with digital editing it became easier to remove that, but especially during the cut & splice days of reel to reel tape, his skill level was HIGHLY professional!
Thank you Rodney Baucom for carrying on the great tradition that Paul started so many years ago....and thank you Paul Pitts for sharing this interview......
